Dillard D. Smallwood, age 74, of Robinfield Road, Frenchburg, KY, passed away while surrounded by his family. The angels came down and carried him home to Jesus on December 20, 2019. He was a member and Deacon of Frenchburg Baptist Church. He was born in Mariba, Kentucky on December 15, 1945, to the late William Kelly and Nettie Profitt Smallwood, He was a farmer and retired heavy equipment operator for the State Highway Department. He was a wonderful family man and a jokester at heart, always bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.
Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Mary Frances Johnson Smallwood; four children, Orleana (Mike) Nolan, Steve (Christie) Smallwood, Julie (Greg) Mullins, and Jason (Susan) Smallwood. Eight grandchildren: Jesse Jaymes, Holly Perry, Katie (Jacob) Valerio, Zackery Smallwood, Kallie Mullins, Lainey Smallwood, William Smallwood, and Benjamin Smallwood. One sister, Esta (Tommy)Woodward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Kelly and Nettie Profitt Smallwood, three sisters, Bernice Newton, Carma Lawson, Dixie Agee, and six brothers, Willard, Dan, Della, Jessie, Donald, and Denn Smallwood.
Funeral, Friday, 1:00pm, December 27, 2019, at Frenchburg Baptist Church on Hwy 36, Frenchburg,Kentucky with Pastor Wayne Myers officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, December 26, 2019, 6:pm to 9:pm. Interment will be at the Lovelace Cemetery on Robinfield Road, Frenchburg, Kentucky.
