Gene Tunney Amburgey

Gene Tunney Amburgey, 86 gained his heavenly home October 17, 2018. He was the husband of Lorene Smallwood Amburgey, father of Connie & Billy McVey, grandfather of Caleb Gene McVey (fiancee Courtney Callis); Travis & Kristi McVey; Angela & Marty Hammons; great-grandfather of Madison Martin, Bryson Toy, Olivia McVey, Lucy Clay McVey. Uncle of Sherri Patrick, Garth Trimble, Tony Hopkins, Rita Stull, Loretta Ratliff, Linda Buechter, Patty Rupe, Ophay Northcutt, Karen McCreary; a great- great uncle to 19, a cousin a friend, and brother in Christ to a host of wonderful people.

He was preceded by his parents William Troy and Aniss Ledford Amburgey, four sisters Orene Amburgey, Ora Hopkins, Mary Lou Trimble, Audrey Hughes. He was a Christ follower for 64 years, always up striving to do all the good that he could do, as he walked closely with his Heavenly Father.

Funeral service 7:00pm Friday, October 19, 2018 at Camargo Church Of God, Camargo, KY with Rev. Vernon Gross and Bro. Jeff Perkins officiating with graveside services  Saturday 11:00am October 20, 2018 at the Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, Kentucky with Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
