Leon Lumpkins, age 65, of Means, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, December 29,2019 in the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky after an extended illness. Leon was born September 1, 1954 in West Liberty, Kentucky to the late Lloyd and Pernie Carroll Lumpkins. He was a member of the Means Miracle Community Church. He was a Vietnam Army veteran, and worked as a carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant siblings. four brothers Roger Lee, Chester, Billy Jack, Harold Lloyd, and one sister Aileen Clevenger.
Surviving is his wife, Debra Day Lumpkins of Means, Kentucky. One son, Nathaniel Keith Lumpkins of West Liberty, Kentucky. Two daughters, Christy McIntosh of Frenchburg, Kentucky, and Michele Woodward of Louisville, Kentucky. Two grandsons, Travis Woodward and Matthew Woodward. One sister, Janice Gevedon,and one brother, Raymond & Lois Lumpkins both of West Liberty, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm, Friday, January 3, 2020 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Bro. Tommy Evans officiating. Burial in the Southfork Cemetery, Malone, Kentucky, with military graveside honors conducted by Morgan County DAV Chapter#132. Visitation will be 6:00pm Thursday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, Kentucky, with Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
