Annis Bowman

Annis Bowman,85, of Wellington,Ky passed away Thursday in the St.Joseph Hospital East, Lexington,Ky after an illness. She was born July 11,1926 in Pomeroyton,Ky daughter of the late Marion Francis Cox & Vessie Yocum Cox. She was a member of the Pomeroyton Union Church,Pomeroyton,Ky. She was a loving wife,mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Buford Bowman.

Surviving is five daughters; Barbara & Donald Taylor,Lexington,Ky. Janice Little, Wellington,Ky. Avis & Lanny Tolson, Denniston,Ky. Phyllis Curtis, Jeffersonville,Ky. Patricia Gaylord, Horn Lake,Mississippi. Three sons, Bobby & Pamela Bowman , Ronnie & Ada Bowman and Larry Bowman all of Wellington,Ky. One sister, Bernice Shumaker of Michigan. One brother, Paul Kendrick of Xenia,Ohio. A Sister-in-law, Hazel Sweeney of Lexington,Ky. Brother-in-law,John Bowman of Jeffersonville,Ky. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service 2:PM,Sunday October 23,2011 at Pomeroyton Union Church,Pomeroyton,Ky with Rev.Terry Wells officiating. Burial in the Pomeroyton Cemetery, Pomeroyton,Ky. Visitation 6;PM,Saturday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg,Ky. Honorary pallbearers, Keith Bowman, Lanny Tolson and Donald Taylor. Active pallbearers, David Bowman, Jason Messer, Scotty Tolson, Rick Bowman, Chris Taylor, Darryl Bowman, David Cox and Kiara Ferrell.
