Charles D Carty, age 83, of Frenchburg, KY, passed away on Sunday, August 8,2021 at UK Hospital, Lexington, KY after a brief illness. He was born August 6,1938 in Foraker, KY,(Magoffin Co, KY) to Chester and Helen Carpenter Carty. He was a former employee of Hobart’s Factory.
Surviving are his wife, Velva Lou Shepherd Carty, four children, Anita & Kenny Wayne Patrick of Wellington, KY, Rita Carty & Mike Helton of Denniston,KY, Vester & Tammie Carty of Means, KY, Charlene & Steve Bayko of Chelsea, Alabama. Eight grandchildren; Jennifer Patrick, Carla & Brad Dehart, Marla & Jesse Morris, Brandon & Amanda Carty, Derrick & Tiffany Carty, Darren & Chelsey Carty, Travis & Kayla Bayko, Steven & Chelsea Bayko. Eleven great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Ilene Carty, Maxine Carty. Three brothers, JD & Brenda Carty, Adron & Teresa Carty, Lester Carty. Sisters-in-law. Marie Arnett, Janet Carty, Joyce Carty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Helen Carpenter Carty, and 5 brothers, Dealis Arnett, Dona C, Gus, Wayne and James Carty. Two sisters, Anna Mae & husband, Orbin Yarber, Imogene Carty.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Thursday, August 12,2021 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev. Jess Brewer officiating. Burial in the Lovely & Amburgey Cemetery, Jeffersonville, KY. Visitation 6:00pm, Wednesday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY Randy Halsey Funeral Director.
Pallbearers: Derrick Carty, Darren Carty, Brandon Carty, Steven Bayko, Travis Bayko, Chester Carty.
Masonic Rites conducted by Beaver Lodge #505 F&AM at 7:00pm, Wednesday in funeral home chapel.
