Deloris Ann Hale Welch, who was 77 years old and lived on Bethel Road in Sharpsburg, KY, departed this life Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at home after an illness with her family by her side. Born in Cold Cave, Kentucky, near Wellington, on February 27, 1949, daughter of the late Willie and Opal Peyton Hale. She was a member of the Pomeroyton Union Church, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She attended Cold Cave Elementary in Wellington, KY, and attended Menifee County High School.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Welch; son Mitchell Welch; two sisters, Elizabeth Lawson and Laura Back; and her half-siblings Frances Bush, Esta Mamis Patrick, Imogene Little, Paul Hale, Beryl Carpenter, Alverna McPherson, Roger Hale, and Lorene Deposter.
Surviving are her children, Nancy & Tony Bailey, Kenneth & Mandy Welch, Bonnie & John Workman, and Billy Gene Welch Jr. Fifteen grandchildren: Latisha Lane, Brittany Welch, Ashley Byrd, Ken Welch, June Welch, Jennifer Wadsworth, Tristan Welch, Amelia Welch, Cassandra Cox, Tiffany Meeks, Mitchell Welch, Walter Welch, William Welch, Sara Workman, and John Boy Workman. Fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Brothers: General Hale, John Hale, Charlie Hale, Dean Hale. Sisters: Joyce Bromwell and Patricia McVey.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Menifee Home. For Funerals with Pastor Terry Wells is offering a message of comfort to the family. Interment in the Morrison & Welch Cemetery, Denniston, KY. Visitation 6 pm, Saturday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
