Demetrius Jane "Betty" Philyaw

Demetrius Jane "Betty" Philyaw, age 83, of Means, KY, passed away Saturday, November 08, 2025, in the Life Care Center, Morehead, KY, after a brief illness. Born in Harlan, KY, on July 14, 1942, daughter of Claude Eli Philyaw and Dollie Lou Swafford Philyaw. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Eli and Dollie Lou Swafford Philyaw; her nephew, Tommy Whitaker; and her brother, Kerry Philyaw.

Surviving are her special friends, Bro. Jesse Dennis and his wife, Cathy Dennis, of Frenchburg, KY.

Graveside services will be at 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in the Mack Cemetery, McCausey Ridge Road, Frenchburg, KY, with Bro. Jesse Dennis officiating. Pallbearers are Terry Wells, Steve Peck, Gary Brown, Forest Mullins, John Sparks, and Rick Crain.
