Edith (Little) Wells

Edith Little Wells, age 103 of Frenchburg, KY passed away Friday February 28, 2025 in the St. Claire Medical Center Morehead, KY surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born September 18,1921 in Mariba, KY daughter of Asa R. Little Sr and Kila Ledford Little.

She graduated from Frenchburg High School and attended Morehead State Teachers College for two years. She taught school, was a postal worker and was Menifee County Sheriff for a short  time while her husband Earl Wells was recuperating from a heart attack. She was a member of the Frenchburg Baptist Church and was an avid reader. She worked at the Menifee County Pharmacy until she retired in her mid 70's. In her late 90's her daughter Marla became her caregiver and took care of her until her death at 103 years old. . A loving wife and mother.

Surviving is one daughter Marla & David Helton, two sons Kevan & Tammie Wells, and Ben R. Wells " Arthur".  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl Wells, sister Dixie Gray, and three brothers Raymond Little, Jack Little and Asa R. Little Jr.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, March 7, 2025 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Pastor Wayne Myers officiating. Burial in the Mack Cemetery, Frenchburg, KY. Visitation 11:30am, Friday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey Funeral Director.
