Gardner F. "Ish" Birchfield III

Gardner F. “Ish” Birchfield III, age 72 of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Sunday, May 23,2021 in the Rockcastle Regional Hospital, Mt. Vernon, KY after an extended illness. He was born February 28,1949 in Mt. Sterling, KY a son of Robert & Irene Faulkner Birchfield. He worked as an auto buyer and was of the christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Patricia Smith Birchfield.

He enjoyed trading knives, the 60’s music, classic cars, and spending time  with his wife, grandchildren, family and friends. He loved to travel and loved his dog Benji.

Surviving is his wife Vickie Williams Birchfield of Mt. Sterling, KY. One daughter, Robin Bottrell (Torrin) of West Lafayette, IN. One son, Robert Birchfield (Paige) of King, NC. Four grandchildren, Abby Haymond, Parker Haymond, Carson Birchfield and Lane Birchfield. One sister, Juda Millman (Bill) of Maryland. Two step-daughters: Jaime Patrick (Jason) of Wellington, KY. Nancy Brown (Kendra) of Mt. Sterling, KY. One step-son: Greg Brown (Angie) of Wellington, KY. Nine step-grandchildren: Kris Brown, Brittny Brown (Andy), Jordan Brown (Kristen), Elijah Brown, Taylor Helton (Scotty), Brandon Whitt, Kenzington  Brown, Alex Williams and Austin Williams. Two step great-grandchildren, Autumn Cherry and Oliver Helton.

Services will be held 2:pm, Sunday, May 30,2021 at Slate Creek Church Of God, HWY 713, Means, KY with Rev. David Hale officiating. Visitation will be 1:00pm, Sunday at Slate Creek Church Of God, HWY 713, Means, KY. Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY, with Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.

COVID-19 mandate/regulations will be followed as set forth by Governor Beshear and the CDC. The family request that visitors respect their desire to keep everyone safe by practicing social distancing guidelines and to wear a face covering of some sort.
