Geneva Grace (Day) Peeples

Geneva Grace Day Peeples, 95, of Frenchburg, went to her heavenly home on January 10, 2026. Born November 7, 1930, the daughter of the late Ash Day and Grace Nolan Day. She was the widow of two amazing men, Major Wilhoit and James Peeples. She was a member of the Means Baptist Church and a faithful worshipper of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved having yard sales, fishing, and cooking for her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Martin (Ben), and a son, Mark Wilhoit (Valeria), both of Frenchburg, and stepdaughter Susan Hunsicker. Five grandchildren: Stacy Whiloit (April), Alisha Wilhoit, Brandi Martin (Rob Lakes), Casey Martin (Brooke), and Tori Hilkens (Matt). Step grandson, Zach Shrout; step granddaughter Jahane Hunsicker-Bley (Heath). Great-grandchildren. Raeley Ballard, Mason Peavyhouse, Mylee Peavyhouse, Case Martin, Peyton Martin, Harper Hilkens, and baby Hilkens. Step great-granddaughters, Madison Shrout and MaKenna Shrout; and a great-great-grandson, Connor McClain. Also surviving are two sisters, Betty Reffitt of Ohio and Gladys Fleenor (Sam) of Indiana, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Wilhoit; a sister, Sylvia Lutes; seven brothers, Clayton, Oliver, Albert, Harley, Morgan, Raymond, and Stanley Day; and a step-grandson, Josh Shrout.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev. Joey Rogers and Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Interment in the Day Family Cemetery, McCausey Ridge Road, Frenchburg, KY. Visitation, 6 pm Tuesday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.

Active pallbearers are Ben Martin, Casey Martin, Matt Hilkens, Zach Shrout, Billy Day, and Stacy Wilhoit. Honorary pallbearers: Jesse Willoughby, Denny Gross, Yvonnia Willoughby, and Marlene Wilson.
