Hargis Bates

Hargis Bates, age, 87 of Denniston, KY passed away Sunday July 2, 2023 at the St. Joseph Healthcare in Mt. Sterling, KY after an extended illness. He was born June 24, 1936 in White Oak, KY to Frank Bates & Jessie Poe.

He was a retired farmer.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank Bates & Jessie Poe, wife, Glendine Chaney Bates. five brothers, Flem Bates, Roger Bates, Earl Bates, Woodford Bates, Johnny Bates, one sister, Hazel Bates, one great grandson, Wyatt Hargis Lewis, one grandson, Jacob Ryan Bates.

Surviving are his two sons, Paul Hargis Bates & his fiance Fannie Roark, Jessie & Melinda Stidham. three grandchildren, Nicole Stidham, TJ Stidham, Jessie Stidham II, one sister, Margaret Ingram.

Funeral service will held at the Menifee Home For Funerals Chapel in Frenchburg, KY at 1:00 PM Thursday July 6, 2023 with Bro. Terry Wells officiating. Interment in Murphy, Stidham & Bates Cemetery, Denniston, KY. Visitation starts at 11:30 AM Thursday July 6, 2023 at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
