James Wexler, age 77 of Frenchburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in the Edgewood Estates Nursing Home, Frenchburg, Kentucky after an extended illness. He was born September 23,1942 in Elizabethton,TN. He was a member of the Big Woods Community Church, Wellington, KY.,and retire from the maintenance department of Pepsi Company, Winchester, KY.
He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Henry Ben & Lyla Wexler, his birth mother, Rosalee Coleman,several brothers and sisters. His father and mother-in law, Herndon & Hazel Sorrell, and sister-in-law, Dolly Sorrell.
Surviving is his wife, Joan Sorrell Wexler of Frenchburg, KY,; two daughters Doris & Mike Crouch of Salt Lick, KY, and Angie & Darrell Baker of Frenchburg, KY. Three sons, Alan & Bethany Wexler of Frenchburg,KY, James Wexler of Lexington, KY, and Bob & Melissa Wexler of Frenchburg, KY. One brother, Steve & Deborah Wexler of Statesville, NC. One half sister, Carol Overton of Ruffin,NC. Several half brothers and sisters. Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm,Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev.Jess Brewer officiating. Burial in Ginter Cemetery, Leatherwood, Kentucky. Visitation will be 6:00pm, Tuesday at Menifee Home For Funerals,Frenchburg, KY, with Randy Halsey,Funeral Director, in care of funeral arrangements of James Wexler. Active pallbearers: Chris Alan Wexler, Zachary Crouch, Zane Crouch, Chase Baker, Eddie Harris, and Tom Conlee. Honorary pallbearers: Edgewood Estates Staff, special buddy Allison Lykins, Ralph Statesman, Bill Spears, Bill Montgomery, Shirley Lovelace, and his many friends.
