John Henry Vest

John Henry Vest, age 80, of Wellington, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 8,2021 in the V.A.Health Care System Hospital, Lexington, KY after an extended illness. Beloved husband of Dorothea Gulley Vest, two step-daughters; Melanie (Roger) Briggs of Newport, TN, and De Ann (Ron) Gray of Paris, KY., also one son, Patrick Vest of Berkley, MA. One step son, Dr. Tom Vest of Las Vegas, NV; two granddaughters, Dr. Chelsey Vest and Bethany Vest-Parris both of Berkley, MA. He leave behind one brother, Ralph (Oneida) Vest of Campton, KY. He was the son of the late Patrick Edward “Chick” Vest and Roxie Helen Sargent Vest, of Bonny, KY.

Mr. Vest served four years in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 as a boatsman in the Mediterranean. He was a self employed carpenter for 40 years.

Funeral services will be 4:00pm, Friday, June 11,2021 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev. Terry Wells officiating. Burial in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY. Visitation will be 12:noon, Friday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY, Randy Halsey, Funeral Director. Pallbearers are Ron Gray, Roger Briggs, Chris Gray and Kevin Prater.
