Johnny "JD" Carty

Johnny “JD” Carty, age 70, of Frenchburg,KY, passed away Wednesday, December 29,2021 in Winchester,KY after a brief illness. He was born December 23,1951 in Paintsville, KY to Chester and Helen Carpenter Carty. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ has his savior. He believed in the power of Prayer. He was a retired welder at A.O. Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Smith Carty of Frenchburg,KY. Four children; Johnny (Jodi) Carty of Glennallen, Alaska, Belinda (Casey)Hurt, Kevin (Cindy) Hurt, Kenny (Amanda) Hurt all of Frenchburg,KY. Seven grandchildren: Konner, Caden, Ethan, Logan, Johnathan, Jason, Payton Sturgill. Two sisters; Ilene Carty and Maxine “Boo” Carty both of Salyersville,KY. Two brothers; Adron (Teresa) Carty of Paris, KY and Lester Carty of Means,KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Helen Carpenter Carty, two sisters ,Anna Mae Yaber, Imogene Carty. Seven brothers, Dealis Arnett, Darrell Ray, Charles D.,Dona C. Gus, Wayne and James Carty.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Sunday, January 2,2022 in Menifee Home For Funerals Chapel with Bro. Dennis Flannery and Bro. Damon Byrd officiating. Interment in the Montgomery Cemetery, Craft Creek, KY. Visitation will be Sunday at 11:00am in Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg,KY Randy Halsey Funeral Director.

Pallbearers: Kenny Hurt, Konner Hurt, Casey Hurt, Caden Hurt, Ethan Hurt, Logan Hurt.
