Lilly Frances “Tena” Mays of Mt. Sterling, KY and formerly of Wellington, KY passed away Monday January 6, 2025 in the Saint Joseph Hospital, Mt. Sterling, KY after an extended illness at the age of 103 years, 7 months and 1 day. She was born June 5,1921 in Wellington, KY daughter of Noah and Ada Peyton Patrick. Member of the Big Woods Community Church, Wellington, KY. A loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Surviving is three children, Russell (Elaine) Mays, Gail Brown, and Janice (John) McCracken. Five grandchildren: Rhonda (Greg) Bashford, Randy (Lucy) Mays, Jill Bailey, Glenda Tackett, Lynn (Kevin) Ostrander. Seven great-grandchildren: Lauren Bashford, Leah (Darrick) Turner, Katie (Mike) Daugherty, David (Sienna) Mays, Andrew Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Anthony Kenney. Three great-great-grandchildren; Lexie Collinsworth, Autumn Daugherty, Hallie Jo Turner. Sisters, Bonnie Brown and Treva Back, Brother, Kenneth Patrick. Host of nieces, nephews. Her loving church family and many friends. Special friend and caregiver Patricia Pastor.

She was preceded in death by her parents Noah and Ada Peyton Patrick, husband Elza Mays of 62 years. Brothers; Jesse, Charles, Claude, Windford, Merrill and Ronald. Sisters; Lizzie Sexton, Virgil Patrick, Reva Keith, Fern Patrick. Son-in-law Jim Brown, grandson-in-law Robert Tackett.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday January 12,2025 at Menifee Home for Funerals With Pastor Jimmy Daulton and Pastor David Hale officiating. Burial in Johnston Cemetery, Wellington, KY. Visitation 11:00am, Sunday at Menifee Home for Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
