Lula Louise (Yocum) Wells

Lula Louise Yocum Wells, age 83, of Old State Road, Denniston, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at her home after an extended illness. She was born on March 5, 1935, in Denniston, Kentucky, to Samuel Powell Yocum and Mattie Caroline Ratliff Yocum, both of which preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Clay Wells, son-in-law, Charlie Sorrell, four brothers, Charles (Dick) Leonard Yocum, Edward Leroy Yocum, Thomas Coyne Yocum and Robert Lee Yocum, and two sisters, Ruth Alice Yocum Seebach, and Edna Mae Yocum Botts. She was a member of the Pomeroyton Union Church, Pomeroyton, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, Clayo Wells of Denniston, KY, daughter, Karen Wells-Sorrell of Denniston, KY , three sons, Jerry Ray Wells (Debra Swartz Wells) of Frenchburg, KY, Larry Dean Wells (Debra Brown Wells) of Wellington, KY, Terry Wayne Wells of Denniston, KY. Seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren. Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wells, Frenchburg,KY. One sister, Barbara Yocum Hampton of Tipp City, OH. A host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral  2:30pm, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev. Jimmy Daulton officiating. Interment in Ratliff Cemetery, Denniston, KY. Visitation 6:30pm, Saturday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY, with Randy Halsey, Funeral Director. Honorary pallbearers, Jonathan Scott Bressler, Dale Yocum, Oris Yocum, Paul Yocum, Earl Ray Botts and David Yocum. Active pallbearers, Davy Wayne Wells, Samuel Boyd Wells, Toby Clay Wells, Alex Dean Wells, Rick Crain, and Garrett David Wells.
