Mark Back

Mark Back, 67 of Frenchburg KY made Heaven his home on May 1, 2023.

He was an adoring husband, amazing father and a doting grandfather. His legacy will be that of a life well lived centered on his faith in Jesus Christ, devotion to building strong family bonds and a kindness for others that was untold. All done with his signature big smile and a twinkle in his eye awaiting his next antic.

 He lived his dream of working as a strip miner and dozer operator until his retirement from Consol Energy. He was a longtime member and board member of Botts Christian Church.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Leonard and Etta Brewer Back, sister Kathy Crain, brother Simon Back, father-in-law Roy Byrd, brother-in-law Owen Crain and nephew Nicholas Back.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Rhonda Back, daughter Lacey (Justin) Lane of Mt. Sterling, son Coty (Nikki) Back of Mt. Sterling, four grandchildren Kollyns Lane, Neva Back, Kroy Lane and Ellie June Back, three brothers, Larry (Bonnie) Back of Frenchburg, Jesse (Sonja) Back of Denniston, Lester (Mollie) Back of Frenchburg; four sisters, Lana (Dean) Ingram of Frenchburg, Myra Reed of Winchester, Jane (Bill) Walker of Catlettsburg, Martha (Tobby) Moore of Mt. Sterling and his beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews. 

Celebration of his life will be held at Botts Christian Church. 6956 US Hwy 460 E, Denniston, KY, at 1:30pm, May 5,2023 with Pastor Rick Back, Coty Back and Tim Maness officiating. Entombment in Back Cemetery, Wellington, KY (at a later date). Visitation starts 11:30am, Friday, May 5,2023 at Botts Christian Church, 6956 US Hwy 460 E., Denniston, KY.
