Minnie R. Gilley

Minnie R. Gilley, age 84, of Frenchburg, KY passed away Friday, June 25,2021 in the St. Joseph Main Hospital, Lexington, KY, from a brief illness. She was born in Owingsville, KY on February 23,1937, a daughter of Bill Blankenship and Mamie Kilgore Creech. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an unforgettable and beloved presence to many.

Surviving are one daughter, Sue Young (Terry) and one son, Paul Mullins (Shirley) all of Frenchburg, KY. Six grandchildren; Jessica Wellborn (Elijah) of Georgia. Kara Hughes (Kris) of West Virginia. Tara Young (Raul Ramirez) of Mt. Sterling, KY. Kevin Mullins of Frenchburg,KY. Becky Mullins of Mt. Sterling, KY. Lisa Mullins of Owingsville, KY. Four great-grandchildren; Roseanna Baker, Sierra Wellborn and Evan Wellborn all of Georgia. Aubrey Lawson of Mt. Sterling, KY. Very special friend, Cindy Stratten of Frenchburg, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Blankenship and Mamie Kilgore Creech. Her husband, John Gilley, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Tuesday, June 29,2021 at Menifee Home For Funerals with Rev. Roger Wells officiating. Burial in the Montgomery Cemetery, Denniston, KY.  Visitation will be 6:00pm, Monday at Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY, Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.
