Mr. Ira Blankenship Obituary

Mr. Ira Joe Blankenship, age 53 of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Menifee County, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at his residence.

He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation, a graduate of Menifee High School in Frenchburg, KY and the University of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Paul Blankenship.

Surviving is his mother, Greta Blankenship of Sudith, KY. One brother, Brian & Kathi Blankenship of Georgetown, KY, two sisters, Elizabeth Burton of Frenchburg, KY and Mitzi & Tom Adams of Frankfort, KY, Nine nieces and nephews, and longtime companion, Kelly Castle of Lexington, KY.

Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Benson & Craig Cemetery in Frenchburg, Kentucky.
