Mr. Love 'L.P." Childers, age 77 of Wellington, Kentucky passed away Monday March 16 2009 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, after an extended illness.
He was born October 19, 1931 in Pike County, Kentucky; son of the late Ralph Childers and Essie Bartley Childers and one sister Wilma Jean Hackney preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Korea Church of God in Wellington, Kentucky & a retired Iron Worker and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving is his wife; Brenda Branham Childers of Wellington, KY and four children; Brenda Henson and Carrie Ann Vanderhoes of Burlington, Wisconsin; Regina Kay & Rick Setters and Garry Brian Keene all of Wellington, KY; Three sisters; Marie Long of Millard, KY, Rita Ann Moore of Elk Horn City, KY & Avonelle Childers of Stewart, FL; Six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Korea Church of God with Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial in the Johnston Cemetery, Wellington, KY.
Visitation 6:00 PM Wednesday at Korea Church of God in Wellington, KY.

Military graveside rites conducted by the Morgan County D.A.V. Chapter 132.
