Nyra Gail (Montgomery) Stamper

Nyra Gail Montgomery Stamper, age 75, of Wellington, KY, departed this life Monday, January 12, 2026, in the St. Joseph Hospital, Mt. Sterling, KY, after an extended illness. Born June 16, 1950, in Mt. Sterling, KY, daughter of Charles & Maxine Halsey Montgomery. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maxine Halsey Montgomery; her husband, Avon Stamper; her daughter, Melissa Cline; two brothers, Kenny & Jimmy Montgomery; and her sister, Dana Brewer.

Surviving is her son Robert Stamper (Nina Embry) of Wellington, KY. Four grandchildren, Martika Stamper, Kristin Hale, Nicholas Vance, and Natalie Stamper, and nine great-grandchildren. One sister, Vickie Montgomery, of Mt. Sterling, KY.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Menifee Home For Funerals with Bro. Jimmy Daulton officiating. Interment in the Catron Cemetery, Pomeroyton, KY. Visitation, 6:00pm, Friday at Menifee home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY: Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.

Pallbearers are Christopher Peyton, Jimmy Trimble, Colby Flynn, Mike Stone, Marty Adkins, and Dakoda Martinez.
