Sammie Lawson Obituary

Sammie Lawson, 86, husband of Bridget Crain Lawson passed away Sunday, January 16th.2022 at his home. He was born October 4th,1935 in Pomeroyton, KY, the son of the late Ishmael and Della (Birchfield) Lawson.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bridget Lawson, two sons and spouses, Philip and Robin Lawson of Frenchburg and Steve and Jodi Lawson of Frenchburg. Also survived grandchildren and spouses: Kamilia Lawson and Matthew Simmons of Jeffersonville, Stevena Adams of Frenchburg, Sheena and Garrett Murphy of Jeffersonville, and Tyler and Kara Lawson of Frenchburg.

He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren: Trinity Fields, Rebel and Bryce Adams of Frenchburg, Braydon and Joelle Lawson of Frenchburg, Genesis Simmons of Blacksburg,VA, Zeya, Elet & Ryka Simmons of Jeffersonville, and Kinsley, Brigston and Samuel Baylor Murphy of Jeffersonville.

He is also survived by two siblings James and Wanda Lawson of Wellington, Ida and Harry Ray of Florida. He is also survived with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Logan Lawson, daughter-in-law, Jeanie Lawson and nephew, Joe Lawson.

From a young age, Sammie was a hard working entrepreneur. Over the years Sammie owned and operated the Lawson-Crain Lumber Company, a residential and commercial construction business. USA Storage and Food Ladd. He was a classic car enthusiast and loved collecting and restoring them. Sammie gave his life to the Lord in 1997 and enjoyed serving in the local church. Sammie loved God, loved people and adored his wife, Bridget and his family.

Private funeral will be held on Thursday, January 20th.,2022

. Active Pallbearers- Lewis Lawson, Tyler Lawson, Matthew Simmons, Greg Spencer, Rick Stiltner, David Lawson, Jim Lawson. Honorary Pallbearers- Jerry Garland, Robert Landrum, and all of his former Employees & Associates.
