Wesley Helton

Wesley Helton, 84, of Salt Lick passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 24,2024 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born May 4,1940 in West Liberty, KY, the son of John Wesley Helton and Stella Helton.

Wesley is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Judy (Ronnie) Long and Gretta Gay (Roger) Pugh, sons Rick Helton and Greg Howard, and former wife Anna (Stock) Helton, and brother Virgil Helton. Wesley grew up in Pomeroyton, KY, but left at an early age for Dayton, Ohio. He returned to his roots in Kentucky after 63 years.

Wesley owned J & W Vending, Dayton, Ohio and when not working he enjoyed horse races, country music and bowling. He once beat the champion bowler, Don Carter. In later years he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds from his porch.

He was the beloved husband of LaDonna Runyan Helton and loving father of Rick Helton, Dayton, Ohio, JoAnn Muse of Bath County, KY, Lanny Howard of Salt Lick, Greg (Pam) Howard of Salt Lick, and Mark (Andrea) Howard, Lexington, KY. Wes was the grandfather of A.J. (Adam John Wesley) Helton of Dayton, Ohio. Megann (Daniel) Warszewik of St. Louis, MO., Zack Helton (fiancée Allie Winterman) Afton Howard, Lexington, KY., Garrett (Suzanne) Howard, Olivia and Lauren Muse of Bath County, KY, Two great-grandchildren, Myers McKinney, Winchester, KY., Kyra Jade Helton, Dayton, Ohio.

Wes was a member of the Tarr Ridge Church of God and had accepted Christ as his savior. We would like to thank all those friends and family members who were so supportive during his long illness.

We will receive family and friends, Monday, May 27,2024 starting at 11:00 am at Menifee Home For Funerals and funeral services at 1:00 PM, Menifee Home for Funerals With Bro. Dennis Flannery officiating. Interment in Catron Cemetery, Wellington, KY. Menifee Home For Funerals, Frenchburg, KY. Randy Halsey, Funeral Director.

Pallbearers: Paul Yocum, Derrick Yocum, Lanny Howard, Mark Howard, Mike Lenling, Zach Helton, Garrett Howard, Daniel Warszewik.

Wesley, I hope you realized how much we loved and appreciated your kind heart, generous Spirit and your WONDERFUL LAUGH.
